US authorizes arms sales to Israel: significant package for Air Force

The US government has authorized the potential sale of a significant package of weapons to equip Israeli Air Force fighter jets. This decision is reflected in one of the latest notifications from the US State Department to Congress for approval through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

The composition of the arms package

According to the notification, the package includes:

1. General purpose bombs:

   - Thousands of general purpose bombs that can be used for various combat missions. These munitions are an important component of the Israeli Air Force's arsenal and make it possible to effectively carry out tasks to destroy ground targets.

2. JDAM Guidance Kits:

- Various types of Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits that turn conventional bombs into precision-guided munitions. These kits can significantly improve the accuracy of hitting targets, minimizing collateral damage and civilian casualties.

As reported in recent weeks, the Israeli government has asked the United States to purchase various shipments of weapons. The request lists thousands of general-purpose bombs, missiles, and related equipment. These weapons are designed to strengthen the combat capability of the Israeli Air Force and ensure the country's national security.

The supply of weapons from the United States is of critical importance to Israel. Given the unstable situation in the region, strengthening the Air Force arsenal allows the country to more effectively protect its interests and counter threats. Precision-guided munitions and modern guidance kits significantly enhance the combat capability of Israeli fighters and ensure more accurate and efficient combat missions.

The sale of weapons through the FMS program requires the approval of the US Congress. The State Department has already sent a notification to that effect, and the approval process is expected to be completed soon. This will allow Israel to obtain the necessary weapons and strengthen its defense capability.

The United States and Israel have a long-standing and strong defense partnership. The supply of weapons through the FMS program is an important element of this cooperation. The two countries continue to work together to strengthen security and stability in the region.

Authorizing the sale of a significant package of weapons to the Israeli Air Force underscores the importance of the strategic partnership between the United States and Israel. This decision will allow Israel to strengthen its defense capability and more effectively protect its interests in the unstable situation in the region. It is expected that the arms supply will be approved by the US Congress in the near future, which will open up new prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
