The US Air Force will continue production of the F-47 fighter jet as part of the NGAD program

 During a press conference at the White House on March 21, President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the Air Force would continue production of the F-47 fighter jet. — next-generation fighter platforms for Air Supremacy (NGAD).

The NGAD platform, intended to eventually replace the U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter fleet, is a family of networked systems that include stealth fighter aircraft, drone technology, and others that simultaneously interact to ensure air superiority.The NGAD program was initiated in 2020 with the aim of developing a sixth-generation fighter to replace the F-22 Raptor. In the summer of 2024, concerns about rising costs prompted the Air Force to suspend the program and review its requirements for future air superiority. The final decision on the direction of the program was postponed until the next administration.
