As a result of the explosion, the general was thrown back several meters and died on the spot.

1. Installation of an explosive device:

   - An improvised explosive device (IED) packed with destructive elements was pre-installed in the car. According to preliminary information, the IED consisted of explosive rounds for under—barrel grenade launchers. VOGs were installed throughout the car, but the largest number of them was concentrated in the left side of the trunk.

2. The explosion mechanism:

   - The explosion was initiated remotely using a security camera installed in the car. The explosion occurred at the moment when General Moskalik came out of the entrance and passed by the car. The scattering of fragments during the explosion was about 300 meters, which indicates the high power of the explosive device.

3. Explosion victim:

   - The deceased, General Yaroslav Moskalik, was a well-known figure in military circles. In 2021, he served as Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. His death was a significant loss for the Russian military command.

Deadly New Year's Incident in New Orleans: Car Rams into Crowd, Killing 10 and Injuring Over 30

In New Orleans, an unknown man in a car rammed into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street. It is reported that 10 local residents were killed and more than 30 injured — they were celebrating the New Year at the time of the collision. 

It has not been possible to establish the identity of the driver and his motives at the moment. After the attack, he opened fire and wounded two policemen. Later, the FBI found several explosive devices at the scene of the tragedy.

UPD: New Orleans police officers discovered and eliminated the attacker, who rammed into a crowd of people and then opened fire.

A camera was found on the pickup truck used by the attacker to commit the attack, apparently filming what was happening.

An improvised explosive device was found in the SUV itself. 

According to law enforcement officials, a flag of a certain terrorist organization was found on the criminal's car. Judging by the footage from the scene of the incident, the attacker was most likely a supporter of the Islamic State.

The police department reported that two officers received gunshot wounds.
