An amendment to the contract for U212 NFS has been signed

Amendment No. 6 to the U212 NFS contract has been signed, the last act signed by the outgoing head of the U212 NFS program, Rear Admiral Cannarozzo Maurizio.

This amendment adds a new Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) focused on the study of the first batch of U212A Todaro-Class submarines to determine which systems need to be upgraded using the latest technologies developed for the Near-Future Submarine Program (NFS).

The purpose of the ECP is to identify the best technological solutions for installation on U212 A class submarines. Although these boats are still among the most advanced in the world, almost twenty years have passed since their delivery, and they have accumulated tens of thousands of hours of operation. As a result, they now require important updates and solutions to replace outdated equipment.
