IVECO Defense Vehicles (IDV) has announced that the Swedish Defense Materials Administration (FMV) has selected its VIKING unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) for the Swedish Autonomous Multifunctional Ground Vehicle (DAMM) demonstration program.
According to an IDV press release, FMV will use VIKING UGV as a central platform within the DAMM initiative, designed to test and evaluate the capabilities of autonomous ground vehicles.
In addition, FMV will acquire Command and Control Basestation from IDV to support the operation and efficiency of autonomous systems. IDV has also committed to providing technical support for system integration and updates throughout the program.
