China restricts foreign travel of DeepSeek employees to protect state secrets

 DeepSeek, on the instructions of the country's authorities, decided that some key employees should hand over their passports. The travel ban outside China for them is aimed at preventing the leakage of "confidential information that may constitute a trade secret or even a state secret.

"The DeepSeek project in China has been declared a national treasure and is now under close protection. It is reported that DeepSeek employees who have not handed in their passports are also now facing travel restrictions.
