The UK government has defended its approach to air and missile defense after a critical assessment from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which warned that integrated air and missile defense remains an "ambition" rather than a reality in Europe.
The IISS report also highlights, that "the UK does not have the ability" to defend itself from a massive strike by intercontinental ballistic missiles.
In addition to these concerns, a report published last fall by the House of Lords Committee on Foreign Relations and Defense, Ukraine: A Wake-up Call, states that Britain's excessive dependence on NATO partners has made its defense capability "negligible," and calls for urgent investments in integrated air and missile defense.
