Escalation of the conflict in Syria: fighting between HTS terrorists and rebels

In recent days, the situation in Syria has escalated again. Security forces, represented by terrorists from the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, are engaged in fierce battles with rebels opposed to the genocide of Shiites, Christians, Alawites, Druze and other minorities, as well as those loyal to ousted President Bashar al-Assad. The conflict has broken out in the coastal region of the country and has already claimed dozens of lives.

The conflict between the HTS and the rebels has deep roots. The HTS terrorists associated with Al-Qaeda are seeking to establish control over key areas of Syria and are spreading their radical ideas. While the rebels, consisting of various ethnic and religious groups, are fighting for their rights and against the genocide that the HTS militants are staging.

Hundreds, if not thousands of people are reported to have died as a result of the clashes. This is the deadliest violence since opposition fighters overthrew the regime of Bashar al-Assad last year. The coastal region of Syria, where fighting is taking place, is strategically important, and control over it can significantly change the balance of power in the conflict.

The situation in Syria remains extremely unstable. The ongoing fighting between the HTS and the rebels could lead to even more casualties and worsen the humanitarian crisis.
