North Korea is close to completing the creation of the first long-range radar detection aircraft

 Modified IL-76

North Korea is apparently nearing the completion of its first long-range radar detection (AEW) aircraft, which could significantly expand the capabilities of its air force. This step indicates the country's desire to strengthen its defensive and offensive capabilities, as well as improve the effectiveness of airspace management.

Highlights:

1. Modified IL-76: Analysis of satellite images shows that North Korea uses a modified Il-76 aircraft to create its AEW. This aircraft was spotted at Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang with a large fairing mounted on its fuselage. Such changes indicate the installation of radar equipment necessary to perform long-range detection tasks.

2. Expanding the capabilities of the Air Force: The creation of its own AEW aircraft will allow North Korea to significantly improve its ability to detect and track aerial targets at long distances. This, in turn, will increase the effectiveness of combat management and coordination between the various units of the Air Force.

3. Strategic importance: The presence of an AEW aircraft can significantly change the strategic balance in the region. North Korea will be able to more effectively control its airspace, as well as receive intelligence on the activities of potential adversaries. This can enhance its ability to respond quickly to threats and conduct more complex military operations.

4. Technological challenges: Despite the obvious successes, North Korea may face a number of technological challenges when completing the development and implementation of the AEW aircraft. This includes the need to ensure reliable operation of radar equipment, as well as its integration with existing control and communication systems.

The creation of the first long-range radar detection aircraft is an important step for North Korea in strengthening its military capabilities. This project demonstrates the country's commitment to technological progress and improving its defense capability. However, the international community will closely monitor developments, as such developments may affect regional stability and security.
