General Dynamics' GHOST: The High-Speed, Versatile Unmanned Vessel Transforming Naval Warfare

GHOST

General Dynamics is hard at work on its GHOST small unmanned vessel, a twin-hulled vessel with a small waterline area (SWATH) that has the potential to transform naval warfare.

GHOST is being developed for fast fleet delivery and rapid construction, making it relatively easy to deploy in a variety of environments. These small ships are fast, can be configured for personnel, are otherwise remotely controlled, and have proven their resilience at speeds of up to 40.3 miles per hour, which is incredibly fast on the water. Due to their size, they can be deployed by amphibious and cargo ships, on trucks, or carried and dropped from aircraft, making GHOST a highly versatile and potentially useful tool for the US Navy.
