South Korean police arrived at the home of President Yoon Seok-yeol to arrest him for briefly declaring martial law in early December. About 20 officers moved to the presidential residence around 08:00 local time (23:00 GMT), and an hour later their number increased to 80.
Yoon's lawyer said they would challenge the "illegal" arrest warrant, and his presidential security forces are reportedly blocking an attempt to take him into custody.
Thus, in South Korea, 100 security forces were unable to arrest the former president — his guards did not let the investigators in.
