The world's fastest supercomputer, El Capitan, is being put into operation and will be used to protect the US nuclear arsenal and in other secret research. El Capitan can reach a peak performance of 2,746 exaflops, making it the world's third-largest exaflops computer. The fastest supercomputer in the world has been officially launched at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in California.
