 S-70i™ Black Hawk

Lockheed Martin, a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, has announced a significant milestone in its partnership with the Philippine Department of National Defense (DND). The company is set to deliver 10 S-70i™ Black Hawk helicopters to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) in 2024. This delivery is part of an ongoing contract for a total of 32 Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopters, aimed at enhancing the country's air defense and humanitarian capabilities.

The S-70i™ Black Hawk is renowned for its versatility and reliability, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of missions, including troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, and disaster relief operations. The acquisition of these helicopters is a crucial step in the Philippine government's efforts to modernize its military and bolster its defense capabilities.

"This delivery marks a significant step forward in our partnership with the Philippine DND," said a spokesperson from Lockheed Martin. "The S-70i™ Black Hawk helicopters will provide the Philippine Air Force with advanced capabilities to meet the diverse needs of the country, from defense to humanitarian assistance."

The project to purchase additional general-purpose helicopters for the PAF is part of a broader initiative to strengthen the Philippines' air defense and humanitarian response capabilities. The Black Hawk helicopters are expected to play a pivotal role in various missions, ensuring that the PAF is well-equipped to handle both military and civilian emergencies.

The delivery of the first batch of helicopters in 2024 is just the beginning. Lockheed Martin and the Philippine DND are committed to a long-term partnership that will see the delivery of the remaining helicopters over the coming years. This collaboration not only enhances the PAF's operational capabilities but also underscores the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and the Philippines.

"We are proud to support the Philippine Air Force in their mission to protect and serve the people of the Philippines," the spokesperson added. "The S-70i™ Black Hawk helicopters represent the best in class for multi-mission capabilities, and we are confident that they will serve the PAF well in the years to come."

As the Philippine Air Force continues to modernize, the addition of these advanced helicopters will be a game-changer, providing the necessary tools to address both defense and humanitarian challenges effectively. The partnership between Lockheed Martin and the Philippine DND is a testament to the shared commitment to enhancing regional security and stability.
