Recently updated satellite images on Google Earth have revealed a key Chinese naval base, revealing the growing scale of the country's nuclear submarine fleet.
Located about 18 kilometers east of Qingdao, on China's east coast along the Yellow Sea, this military installation is now visible through an open surveillance platform.
It illustrates the steady and deliberate expansion of the People's Liberation Army (PLAN) Navy in the underwater field. Far from being a simple maintenance facility, the base plays a central role in the logistical and operational infrastructure of China's naval nuclear deterrent.
