North Korea has officially unveiled its new Choi Hyon air combat frigate, causing a wide response in military circles. This ship, equipped with 74 vertical launchers, is capable of launching cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as anti-aircraft missile systems. The new frigate has become a symbol of the DPRK's ambitions in the field of naval construction and demonstrates significant progress in the development of the country's offensive and defensive capabilities.

The Choi Hyon frigate has the tail number 51, which may be a reference to the DDG-51 Arleigh Burke class destroyers of the US Navy.
