Oshkosh Defense Europe BV, in partnership with Oshkosh Defense, LLC, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK], has signed a significant contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defense. The agreement provides for the production of 150 Dutch Expeditionary Patrol vehicles (DXPV), a specialized version of the American Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). These vehicles are designed to meet the special requirements of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps under the Future Littoral All-Terrain Mobility — Patrol Vehicle (FLATM-PV) program.
The DXPV is an adapted version of the JLTV, tailored to the unique operating conditions in coastal and rugged areas. The machine combines high mobility, security and modularity, making it an ideal choice for performing tasks in difficult terrain. The DXPV is equipped with modern communication systems, reinforced armor and the ability to integrate additional equipment, which significantly expands its combat capabilities.
The FLATM-PV program is aimed at providing units of the Dutch Marine Corps with advanced vehicles capable of operating in high-threat environments. The vehicles will be used for patrol, reconnaissance and rapid response in coastal areas where high maneuverability and reliability of equipment are required.
The contract underlines the confidence of international military departments in Oshkosh Defense products. The JLTV has already established itself as one of the most reliable and versatile tactical vehicles in the world, being in service with the US Army and other countries. The delivery of the DXPV to the Netherlands will be an important step in strengthening the country's defense capabilities and increasing the operational effectiveness of the Royal Marine Corps.
The cooperation between Oshkosh Defense and the Dutch Ministry of Defense demonstrates the trend towards the globalization of defense programs. This also confirms the desire of NATO countries to unify military equipment and technologies to increase compatibility within the alliance.
The production of DXPVS will not only strengthen Oshkosh Defense's position in the European market, but will also create new jobs in the region. In addition, the successful implementation of the FLATM-PV program can become the basis for further cooperation with other countries interested in acquiring similar equipment.
This contract also highlights the importance of investing in modern technologies to ensure security in the face of growing geopolitical challenges. The DXPV will be a key element of the mobility of the Netherlands Marine Corps, contributing to both national and international missions.
