New Zealand has been caught up in a US intelligence
leak: Israel and Iran's plans and space technology
deals.
The US is investigating who had access to the data,
including the Five Eyes intelligence group, which includes
New Zealand. The leak probably originated
from New Zealand.
Sharing intelligence or technology related to the military
increases the risk of leaks or hacks, but some new steps are
still being taken in this direction.
These include a relaxation of U. S. rules on the sale of space
technology to close allies and closer cooperation between the
U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and military
forces in the field of ground guidance.
