$25 Million Bounty Announced for Maduro's Arrest, Alongside Rewards for Other Venezuelan Officials

 The United States has announced an increased reward of US$25 million (£20.4 million) for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on the day he is sworn in for his third six-year term. The inauguration ceremony was marred by mutual accusations from the international community and the leaders of the Venezuelan opposition. Rewards have also been offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello. A new award of up to $15 million was also offered for Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino. The UK has also imposed sanctions on 15 senior Venezuelan officials, including judges, security forces and military personnel.
