The F-35C crashed near Lemur: the crew ejected, the base is in emergency mode

A serious accident occurred tonight at and near the Naval Air Station Lemoore (NAS Lemoore) in California — one of the F-35C Lightning II fighter jets crashed. The plane crashed somewhere near the base, prompting a strong response from the emergency services, who immediately arrived at the scene.

NAS Lemoore is not just another airbase. This is the main strike base of the US Navy on the West coast, from where both the latest F-35C and the proven F/A-18E/F Super Hornet will launch. Combat and training squadrons are based here, and each sortie is a preparation for real operations, including from aircraft carriers.

Fortunately, according to preliminary data, the pilot managed to eject and survived. He was immediately evacuated for a medical check—up - details about his condition have not yet been disclosed. An investigation into the causes of the accident has already begun: data from on-board systems, weather conditions and possible technical failures are being analyzed.

The F-35C is a marine version of the fifth—generation fighter adapted for landing on aircraft carriers. It is equipped with a reinforced chassis, arresting hook and other features, but it remains difficult to control. Any accident involving such an aircraft is a serious event, especially given their high cost and strategic importance.

The incident has not yet affected the fleet's combat readiness, but it has raised concerns: no matter how much technology is improved, flying fighter jets still involves huge risks.

A South Korean plane entered the Japanese air defense zone without warning, and fighters were scrambled

The military tension in the Far East almost reached a new level due to one unexpected maneuver. The South Korean transport aircraft C-130 Hercules entered the Japanese air defense zone (the so-called ADIZ) without prior notice. Japan reacted immediately: fighter jets were scrambled from the airbase to intercept.

What exactly happened? On July 13, this aircraft flew as part of a large—scale exercise under the auspices of the United States, probably Resolute Force Pacific, which is positioned as the largest military exercise in the history of the Pacific Ocean. On his way to Guam, he needed to refuel, and the route changed abruptly — he turned to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. But the South Korean military seems to have forgotten to inform Japan about this in advance.

But for Tokyo, this is serious. ADIZ is not a border, but a zone where the country monitors all aircraft, especially military ones. If someone enters without warning, it may look like a challenge or even a threat. Therefore, Japanese fighters took to the air to visually identify the aircraft and track it.

Now the South Korean Air Force has launched an investigation — they are trying to understand whether it was a mistake in coordination or just a slip. In any case, the incident is a reminder of how easily even NATO and other bloc allies can scare each other, especially in a tense region like East Asia.

It's good that there was no escalation. But the situation has shown that even friendly countries should keep each other informed when flying near other people's "air zones."

The return of the nuclear-powered missile carrier USS Connecticut (SSN-22) to service has been postponed until at least the end of 2026

The reason for such a long downtime was the severe damage to the hull and equipment sustained in October 2021 in a collision with an unknown seamount in the South China Sea, as well as the rarity of the boat itself: the Connecticut belongs to the small Seawolf class, designed at the end of the Cold War to confront the Soviet navy. In total, three such submarines have been built, and each of them is considered a strategic asset, so restoration requires unique components and technologies that are no longer produced.

The Pentagon stresses that the return of Connecticut to combat duty is critical for the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region. China's growing naval presence, including the expansion of its fleet of nuclear submarines and the creation of new bases on artificial islands, is forcing the US Navy to keep every available unit in service. At the same time, the Columbia program, the next generation of strategic submarines, is experiencing delays due to a shortage of qualified shipyards and a shortage of components. As a result, until 2030, the fleet can have only a limited number of high-class nuclear submarines capable of performing long-term covert patrols.

An internal investigation by the US Navy revealed that the accident was the result of systematic errors by the crew. In particular, the team violated navigation procedures, ignored sonar warnings and did not conduct a proper risk analysis in an unexplored area. As a result, the ship's commander and his deputy were dismissed, and several officers were reprimanded. The Navy has also revised the standards for training navigation calculations and will introduce additional simulators for submariners to avoid a repeat of the incident.

The Connecticut is being repaired at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. First, engineers must completely cut out and replace the affected bow compartment, where the sonar system is located, and then upgrade the communication systems, weapons and reactor. It is expected that the work will require at least 400,000 man-hours and over 450 million dollars. In parallel, an upgrade to the Seawolf Block III level will be carried out, including new sensors and launch capabilities for unmanned underwater vehicles.

The USS Connecticut submarine will return to service in 2026 after a severe accident in the ocean

In 2021, the American nuclear submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) from the elite Seawolf class crashed into an unknown seamount somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. As a result of the accident, the boat was seriously damaged, especially in the bow, but, fortunately, the nuclear installation remained intact.

After the incident, she was sent for long—term repairs, and now it has become known that the submarine is scheduled to return to service in 2026. This is an important task for the US Navy, because they have only three such boats, and each is a real technical masterpiece.

At the time of the accident, the boat was seriously damaged — it literally had no nose cone, and part of the hull was also damaged. All this happened because the crew did not notice the danger on the map — the mountain was not marked on the navigation systems. The result is a hard blow and serious consequences.

As a result of the investigation, part of the team was fired, including the boat commander, who was simply stripped of his position. It was recognized that not only navigation errors were to blame, but also general negligence in management.

Now specialists are actively working on the restoration of the submarine. The plans are not only to repair, but also to modernize its systems in order to avoid such problems in the future and increase combat capabilities.

Given that Seawolf is one of the most technologically advanced classes of submarines in the world, its return will greatly strengthen the US position in the submarine component of the fleet. The loss of even one such boat is a serious blow to strategic capabilities.

The incident with the USS Connecticut has become an important lesson for the US Navy. Now they are working hard on discipline, crew training and monitoring the implementation of all procedures. The goal is to prevent this from happening again.

In general, although the boat has suffered a serious blow, its recovery is on schedule, and in a couple of years it will be back on combat duty.

The UK Ministry of Defense has increased security following the incident with Palestinian activists at the Brize Norton Air Force Base

The British Ministry of Defense has taken drastic measures to strengthen security throughout the defense complex following the incident, which Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard described as "trespassing and criminal vandalism."

Last week, members of the Palestinian Action Palestine organization infiltrated the British Air Force base in Brize Norton, where important defense facilities are located. As a result of their actions, cases of vandalism were recorded, which caused serious concern in the Ministry of Defense.

The reaction of the authorities

- Increased security measures: additional checkpoint procedures have been introduced, video surveillance and patrolling have been strengthened.

- Incident investigation: A thorough investigation has been launched to identify all those involved and prevent similar incidents in the future.

- Statements by officials: Luke Pollard stressed the inadmissibility of such actions and assured that the security of defense facilities remains a priority.

The infiltration of activists into the military base highlights the vulnerability of some facilities and the need for continuous improvement of protection systems. This case also reflects tensions and political activity related to international conflicts that may have an impact on internal security.

Correlation of solar activity and US military interventions in the Middle East

The scientific basis of the relationship

Studies confirm the influence of the 11-year cycle of solar activity on atmospheric processes. During periods of solar maxima, there are:

- Changes in atmospheric circulation: Correlation patterns of tropospheric circulation are increasing over the North Atlantic.

- Modification of jet streams: This affects the distribution of temperatures and precipitation, creating conditions for climatic anomalies in the Middle East region.

- Stratospheric mechanisms: Additional heating of the stratosphere changes the polar vortex, which has a downward effect on tropospheric processes.

Historical coincidences of interventions with solar maxima

Over the past four decades, key U.S. military interventions in the Middle East have surprisingly coincided with the peaks of the 11-year solar cycle. So, in 2003, when the invasion of Iraq began, the peak of the 23rd solar cycle was observed, which occurred in 2001-2002. This operation, known as Freedom for Iraq, has become one of the largest US military campaigns in the region.

In 2011, during the peak of the 24th solar cycle (around 2014-2015), the United States and its allies intervened in Libya, known as Operation Dawn Odyssey. The war in Syria, which began in 2014, also fell into the ascending phase of the same 24th cycle, when the United States began to strike at the ISIS terrorist organization as part of Operation Unwavering Resolve.

Finally, in 2025, at the peak of the 25th solar cycle, which falls on 2024-2025, the United States launched large-scale strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. This event continues the trend of large-scale military operations coinciding with periods of high solar activity.

The start of Operation Unwavering Resolve in Syria coincided with the rising phase of the solar maximum.

Analysis of current events (2025)

Attack on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 21-22, 2025:

- Produced at the peak of the 25th solar cycle (2024-2025)

- Coincided with abnormal changes in atmospheric circulation over the North Atlantic

- Caused a cascade of geopolitical consequences:

- An increase in oil prices by 14.7%

- The migration crisis in Europe (3.2 million refugees in 2024)

- A split in NATO on deterrence strategy

The theoretical basis of correlation

Although a direct causal relationship has not been proven, the observed synchronicity can be explained through:

1. Climate stress: Solar maxima exacerbate droughts in the region, destabilizing socio-economic systems.

2. Geopolitical calculation: Countries initiating interventions can use forecasts of solar activity to plan operations during periods of atmospheric anomalies.

3. Energy factor: Changes in atmospheric circulation affect aviation logistics and precision of high-tech weapons.

The statistical correlation of U.S. military operations with peaks in solar activity has been traced for four decades. The coincidence of the strikes on Iran in June 2025 with the maximum of the 25th solar cycle continues this trend, highlighting the complex interaction of space, climate and geopolitical factors.

An Israeli air defense interceptor probably crashed in Haifa during an Iranian missile attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Home Front Command suspects that one of the Israeli air defense interceptors malfunctioned and crashed in the Haifa area during a recent ballistic missile attack from Iran. This incident caused the air raid sirens in the northern city to fail.

Details of the incident

- The early warning system transmitted a signal via a cellular connection, but the sirens in Haifa were not activated, as the missiles were not aimed directly at the city.

- According to preliminary data from the investigation of the Home Front Command, during the attack, one of the air defense interceptors malfunctioned, which crashed in the Haifa area.

- The causes of the failure and the circumstances of the crash continue to be investigated.

The lack of sirens caused concern among the residents of Haifa and called into question the effectiveness of the warning system in the face of rocket attacks. The IDF will strengthen the verification and modernization of its air defense and warning systems to minimize the risks of a repeat of such situations.

Secret military documents found on the street

Stacks of papers containing classified military information were found on one of the city streets.

They include the ranks of soldiers, email addresses, shift schedules, and information about the issue of weapons, as well as information that appears to be related to access to the weapons storage and intrusion detection system. The documents were discovered by a football fan on March 16 in the Scotswood area of Newcastle from a black trash bag and, according to information security consultant Gary Hibberd, posed a "significant" threat to the individuals named in them.

The Ministry of Defense said it was "urgently" investigating the matter and conducting an internal investigation.

Downing Street said it could not comment on "any details" while an army investigation was underway.

"But you can count on appropriate measures to be taken in response to any potential information leak," the representative said.

Apparently, the documents are related to the regiments and barracks of the British Army in the Catterick garrison. One of the documents was called "Keys to the arsenal and intrusion detection codes," and, as the BBC understands, it concerns access to the arsenal — a place where weapons and ammunition are stored — and an intrusion detection system.

Other information was provided with a footnote with the words "official – confidential," which, according to government guidelines, in some cases may mean that the information could lead to a "threat to life" if disclosed.

The information contained in the dropped documents ranged from general medical recommendations to ingredient order sheets, as well as people's ID numbers and email addresses.

A police spokesman confirmed that police "have received a report that potentially confidential documents have been found on Railway Street in the Scotswood area of Newcastle.""The documents have now been submitted to the Ministry of Defense."

A Defense Ministry spokesman said: "We are urgently reviewing this matter, and it is the subject of an ongoing internal investigation."
