Successful tests of the NEMUS radar system for Leopard 2E armored vehicles

The Spanish defense company Indra Sistemas has completed successful tests of its new NEMUS radar system, designed to integrate with armored vehicles.

Developed jointly by Indra Sistemas and Rheinmetall AG (Germany), the NEMUS radar uses active phased array (AFAR) technology and is designed to protect Leopard 2E main battle tanks from a range of threats, including drones and high-speed projectiles.

The system provides 360-degree coverage and can detect threats moving at speeds of up to 1.8 km per second. The developers say that it works reliably in adverse weather conditions, including rain, snow and low temperatures.
