Jiutian high-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle |
In June 2025 The Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of China (NAO) they plan to officially adopt the new Jiutian high-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle, developed as part of an ambitious program to modernize Chinese military technologies. This UAV is positioned as a universal aerial platform combining the capabilities of long-range reconnaissance, precision strike and drone swarm control.
With a maximum flight altitude of up to 15 km, the Jiutian is capable of overcoming most modern air defense systems while remaining outside their effective range. This makes it especially valuable in the context of modern conflict, where air supremacy is becoming a key success factor.
In addition to its reconnaissance function, the drone can also be used in combat operations — it is capable of accurately striking ground targets, supporting the actions of other aviation forces. A special feature of Jiutian is its modular cargo transportation system, which allows it to deliver various types of equipment, including FPV drone launch systems (First Person View).
Thus, the device acts not only as a means of reconnaissance or strike, but also as an aerial platform for the deployment of autonomous swarm systems, which puts it on a par with advanced achievements in the field of military robotics and artificial intelligence.
The adoption of the Jiutian indicates China's desire to strengthen its position in the race for technological superiority in the air and lays the foundation for new combat tactics using hybrid pilot-unmanned groups.
