Satellite images reveal new Chinese weapon ahead of military parade: focus on anti-ship missiles

Satellite image with missile containers before the parade

The parade as a demonstration of technological superiority

Ahead of a major military parade in Beijing, satellite imagery has provided the first visual evidence of the deployment of a new generation of Chinese weapons. Notable systems include several types of anti—ship missiles, including modifications with improved performance. Their demonstration at the parade will not only be a show of inner strength, but also a clear signal to external strategic players.

China continues to use the parades as a platform for the presentation of advanced military technologies, demonstrating progress in the modernization of the PLA Armed Forces.

New anti-ship missiles: range and power

The images indicate the presence of missiles similar to the upgraded versions of the DF-21D and DF-26B, the so—called "aircraft carrier killers." These systems have supersonic or hypersonic speeds, maneuverable warheads, and the ability to hit moving targets at sea.

It is reported that the range of some of them reaches 4,000-5,000 km, which allows them to cover key areas in the Pacific Ocean, including possible positions of US Navy strike groups. The emergence of new variants with improved stealth and guidance systems indicates constant modernization.

The goal is to deter the US Navy in the Pacific Ocean

Analysts note that the characteristics of the new missiles indicate their focus on countering American aircraft carriers and other large ships. This fits into China's overall strategy to create "access restriction and breakout prevention" (A2AD) zones in the South China and East China Seas.

The deployment of such systems enhances Beijing's ability to control sea routes and reduce the operational freedom of the US Navy in the region.

A signal to strategic rivals

The display of new missiles at the parade is not just a demonstration of military power, but an element of strategic communication. He stresses China's willingness to defend its interests and its ability to counter the most advanced military platforms.

Such actions increase tensions in the region, but at the same time encourage a review of tactics and technologies on the part of the United States and its allies.

China is ready to show off a large unmanned surface ship at a military parade

On the eve of a large-scale military parade in Beijing, photos have emerged of a large unmanned surface ship (BNK) being transported around the city on a conveyor. This vessel is expected to be one of the most impressive novelties of the show and may turn out to be one of the largest unmanned ships ever publicly demonstrated by China.

The size of the vessel indicates that it belongs to the class of medium—sized or large unmanned platforms designed not just for reconnaissance or strike operations, but for performing a wide range of tasks, from long-term patrols to monitoring vast maritime areas. Unlike the small drone boats that China already uses for tactical purposes, this ship is capable of operating autonomously for a long time and at considerable distances from the base.

The emergence of such technology underscores China's strategic desire to strengthen its control over disputed territories, especially in the South China Sea. Beijing has territorial disputes with the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and other countries there. Unmanned patrol ships can strengthen their presence in these waters without risking the crew, reduce operating costs, and can be used for both monitoring and demonstration of force.

In addition, such vessels can be equipped with sensors, electronic intelligence systems, communications equipment, and even weapons, making them versatile platforms in modern naval strategy.

The demonstration of a large BNC at the parade is not just a technology demonstration, but a signal of China's readiness to move to a new level of autonomous and networked maritime defense.

China is preparing to display new combat drones at a military parade

Before the upcoming major military parade in Beijing, the first footage and data on China's new combat drones have appeared. At least five different models of unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to the loyal wingman class are visible on satellite images and in training footage. These vehicles are similar to what the US Air Force designates as joint combat aircraft (CCA — Collaborative Combat Aircraft).

The new Chinese drones are characterized by low visibility, autonomy and the ability to operate in close cooperation with manned fighter jets. They are designed to perform a wide range of tasks, from reconnaissance and electronic jamming to strikes against ground and air targets.

It is expected that some of the models presented at the parade may be advanced unmanned combat aircraft (UCAV) with increased autonomy, including the ability to make decisions in the air without constant operator control. At the same time, they retain the ability to accompany and support manned aircraft, enhancing their combat effectiveness.

The demonstration of such technologies highlights China's desire to reduce the technological gap between leading countries in the field of advanced aviation and artificial intelligence. The display of the new UCAVs at the parade is not just a spectacular event, but a signal of China's readiness to move to a new level of digital and autonomous aerial warfare.

The latest armored vehicles have been delivered to Beijing to participate in the military parade

The latest armored vehicles have arrived in the capital of China, Beijing, which will be publicly presented for the first time at the upcoming military parade. The event is timed to coincide with an important state date and will demonstrate the level of development of the country's military-industrial complex.

The vehicles shown will include a new main battle tank, a modern armored personnel carrier and an infantry fighting vehicle. These samples reflect the latest achievements of Chinese defense production in the field of mobility, protection, firepower and digitalization of combat systems.

The exact names and models of the equipment have not yet been officially announced, but experts note that the new items are likely to be equipped with improved fire control systems, active protection, and integrated into a common network of intelligence and command and control. This makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of interaction between units in real combat conditions.

The display of new armored vehicles at the parade is traditionally seen as a signal of technological progress and increased combat readiness of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA). Such events emphasize the country's policy of modernizing the armed forces and strengthening its defense capability.

China is preparing a surprise: "smart" drones for fighter jets will be shown at the parade

China is clearly preparing a high—profile stunt for its next major military parade - and it's not about new tanks or missiles. This time, attention is focused on new drones, which can be a real breakthrough in aviation. According to satellite intelligence and analysts, mock—ups or even real samples of "loyal wingman" type drones are involved in the preparation for the march - the very ones that should fly in conjunction with manned fighters and make them many times more efficient.

What is a "loyal follower"?

Imagine a fifth-generation fighter, for example, the famous J—20 - fast, unobtrusive, powerful. Now imagine that one, two, or even three drones are flying behind him, which he fully controls. These drones can:

- Fly ahead and  scout the area, risking yourself instead of the pilot.

- Carry additional missiles and expand the fighter's ammunition.

- Create interference, distract enemy air defenses, or even attack targets autonomously — at the command of the pilot.

Drones like "smart wings" or digital shadows. They are also called Loyal Wingman — "loyal wingman". This concept is being actively developed by the USA, Australia and other countries. And now China is entering the home stretch.

Commercial satellite images taken near the training ground where the parade rehearsals are taking place show several unidentified medium-sized UAVs. They are stored under canopies, but their outlines are recognizable: an elongated fuselage, a low—lying wing, hidden air intakes - all this indicates low visibility and high aerodynamics. Some experts compare them to the Australian MQ-28 Ghost Bat, but with the characteristic features of the Chinese design.

What is important is that there are no conventional launch systems next to them, like those of tactical drones. This means that they are most likely not just scouts, but full-fledged combat units designed to work as part of an air group.

Why would China do that?

The answer is simple: to seize the initiative in the air war of the future. Modern fighter jets are becoming too expensive and complex. But slave drones are cheaper, consumable, but at the same time very dangerous in mass. One pilot can control several of these machines, turning one aircraft into an entire combat network.

If China really shows these drones at the parade, it will be a serious signal to the world:

"We are not only copying, we are creating our own advanced systems. And we are ready for war in a new reality, where artificial intelligence and autonomy play a crucial role."

Chinese military parades are not just a show of force. This is a strategic show designed for an internal audience and external observers. Showing new weapons at such events is a way of saying:

"Look, we have this."

"And we can scale it."

"Don't underestimate us."

If the "loyal slaves" appear in the ranks — even in the form of mockups — it will mean that the program is in the final stage of testing. Or perhaps she has already passed the first flight tests with the J-20 or other fighters.

China is no longer just a "player" in the military technology race — it is becoming a leader in some areas. And if everyone used to look at the F-35 and Skyborg, now they will have to study closely what Chengdu and its partners are doing.

The future of air warfare is in human + drone bundles.

And, apparently, China is already there.

China is testing a new SH16 self-propelled howitzer with a robotic turret and record-breaking range shooting

SH16

The Chinese army has begun field trials of the new 155-mm SH16 self-propelled howitzer, which has already attracted the attention of military analysts as one of the most advanced artillery systems of the new generation. Information about the howitzer has been kept secret for a long time, but recent photos and publications on Chinese social networks have confirmed its active testing.

The SH16 is built on a tracked chassis with a total weight of about 32 tons. The main advantage of the system is a fully robotic modular turret weighing less than 14 tons, which significantly reduces the crew to two people: a driver and a gunner/commander. This became possible thanks to the introduction of automated loading and modern fire control systems, which increases the rate of fire and effectiveness of combat use.

The howitzer is equipped with a 52-caliber (155 mm × 52) long barrel, which significantly increases the initial velocity of the projectile and, consequently, the firing range. According to the data, the maximum range reaches 53-56 kilometers with the use of ERFB-BB active-rocket projectiles and up to 100 kilometers with the use of specialized precision—guided munitions - this makes the SH16 comparable in range with the world's best analogues.

The high level of automation allowed not only to reduce the number of crew, but also to increase the speed of deployment and position change. To stabilize the howitzer when firing in a combat position, special recoil-compensating frames are installed. The tower is equipped with its own radar station for measuring ballistic data and an optical system for direct fire.

Additionally, the SH16 can be equipped with a remote-controlled machine gun module for protection against infantry and smoke camouflage. In the spring of 2025, this system is expected to be demonstrated at the military parade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on September 3, which will confirm its status as the main artillery innovation of the PLA.

The SH16 is designed to replace outdated models and enhance the combat capability of the Chinese ground forces. The increased firing range and high level of digital integration will make it possible to effectively suppress well-concealed targets, carry out pinpoint strikes from a long distance and quickly maneuver on the battlefield.

Special attention is paid to combining the system with modern means of communication and fire control within an integrated network, which makes the SH16 part of the digital army of the future.

The adoption of the SH16 by 2027 will significantly enhance the artillery capabilities of the People's Liberation Army of China. The combination of high firepower, precision, automation and mobility will make this howitzer a serious challenge in the global artillery market.

The French army showed the new Leclerc XLR tank at the parade in Paris

Leclerc XLR

During the main military parade in honor of Bastille Day in Paris, the French showed for the first time their most sophisticated tank, the Leclerc XLR. It was such a debut that it looked very cool and even a little loud, as it should be for a large military demonstration.

This tank is an updated version of the good old Leclerc, which has been serving in the army for many years. But now it has become even more powerful: it has new armor, modern protection systems, an improved sight, and generally the whole stuffing has become smarter. He even walks faster and has become more maneuverable .

According to the local military, this tank should become the basis of France's fighting force at least until 2040. There are plans to modernize about 200 of these machines by 2030, which is serious, especially considering how much needs to be redone.

By the way, recently at one of the exhibitions, such as Eurosatory 2024, various new vehicles were also shown, for example, armored cars “Griffin”, scouts “Jaguar” and armored personnel carriers Piranha, so it is clear that France is not sitting idly by. and it is actively developing its technologies in the field of armored vehicles.

Interestingly, the French have recently begun to take ideas from other countries, such as Russia. This is especially noticeable in their approach to the organization of long-range strikes and counteraction systems. Such borrowings are reflected in new projects, for example, in the ASN4G rocket, which is planned to be launched from Rafale F5 aircraft by about 2030-2035.

In general, the release of the new Leclerc XLR at the parade is not just a beautiful show, but an important step in updating the entire army equipment of the country and maintaining its authority in the international arena.
