"Using computer vision, artificial intelligence, and advanced tracking algorithms, it allows soldiers to detect, track, and destroy air and ground targets with unparalleled accuracy," says Smartshooter. The U.S. Army is expanding its experiments with Israeli firm Smartshooter's high-tech fire control system under what the company says is a new $13 million contract.
The system will be deployed "as part of the Army Forces Transformation program in Contact (TIC2.0)," Smartshooter said in a statement last week. According to him, this is part of the "accelerated testing and integration of advanced army technologies on the battlefield.
"The new order is based on the Army's 2022 order for Smartshooter's Smash 2000L system, which is a lightweight, portable system used on rifles that helps the operator control fire when pointing at an object, such as a small quadcopter.
