The 11-pound electronic warfare weapon allows drones to track enemy radio signals in the air.Weighing less than 11 pounds and consuming less than 40 watts of power, the new sensor system is designed to integrate with small drones.
At the 2025 Paris Air Show, Thales unveiled a compact, low-power electronic warfare (EW) payload designed for deployment on light drones, offering front-line troops a crucial new tool to achieve electromagnetic superiority in conflict situations. Weighing less than 5 kg (11 lb) and consuming less than 40 watts of power, the new sensor system is designed to integrate with small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS), both free-flying and tethered, allowing autonomous detection and geolocation of radio frequency (RF) radiation sources tens of miles away.
