Gunsmiths of the volunteer Cossack detachment Oskol in the LPR have set up production of anti-aircraft guns assembled from three Maxim machine guns. This design significantly increases firepower and is designed to effectively combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian forces.
One Maxim machine gun has a rate of fire of about 600 rounds per minute, which allows the triple installation to fire up to 1800 bullets per minute. The 7.62 mm cartridges used are capable of hitting aerial targets at an altitude of up to 1,400 meters, which makes such installations an effective means of countering drones at low and medium altitudes.
Konstantin Mishustin, commander of the Oskol detachment, noted that such a solution makes it possible to use time-tested weapons with an upgraded design to solve modern air defense tasks. Anti-aircraft installations from Maxim machine guns have already shown their effectiveness in combat conditions.
