Serbia to purchase 1.4 billion euros worth of weapons from Israeli Elbit Systems

The Israeli defense company Elbit Systems (Elbit Maarakhot) has signed a large-scale contract with Serbia for the supply of modern weapons and technologies. Initially, the customer was announced anonymously under the requirement of confidentiality, but now it has become known that we are talking about Serbia.

The contract amount is 1.4 billion euros, and the deadline is five years. This is one of Belgrade's largest deals with foreign suppliers of military equipment in recent times and an important step in the modernization of the Serbian Armed Forces.

What is included in the delivery:

- High-precision artillery systems — to increase firepower and precision strikes.

- Reconnaissance and strike UAVs of operational and tactical level, including drones for surveillance, reconnaissance and strikes.

- Electronic warfare (EW) systems — to suppress enemy communications and navigation.

- Intelligence data collection and processing complexes — ensure the integration of information from various sources and increase situational awareness.

- Electro-optical systems and night vision devices — for conducting combat operations at any time of the day.

- Modern field communication systems — for reliable and secure data exchange between units.

- Modernization of military equipment, including infantry fighting vehicles and other platforms, as well as the installation of defensive systems.

Supplies from Elbit Systems will allow Serbia to significantly strengthen its defense capabilities, especially in the field of intelligence, precision weapons and electronic warfare. This also indicates the expansion of the Israeli presence in the Balkan arms market.
