Historic Deployment: USAF B-52H Bombers Conduct First-Ever Simulated Weapons Drop in Finland, Strengthening NATO Alliances

 Four USAF B-52H Stratofortress aircraft took off from the Royal Air Force Base in Fairford, England, after the successful deployment of a bomber task force. During its time in Europe, the deployed B-52 unit conducted a number of training missions with other U. S. Air Force forces and assets and participated in operations with several NATO countries, including Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Morocco. This deployment was the first in history: American bombers conducted a simulated weapons drop in Finland, strengthening NATO alliances and demonstrating enhanced integration with a new NATO ally.
