This decision followed several of his posts on the social network, where he conducted a survey among his subscribers, which received a significant response: of the more than 1.2 million survey participants, 65.4% expressed support for the initiative to create a new political force.
Musk justified his decision by criticizing the current state of American democracy, saying that "in a 2-to-1 ratio, you want a new political party, and you will get it!" He also noted that the United States is on the verge of bankruptcy due to waste and corruption, and the country does not live in a democracy, but in a one-party system. where two large parties actually play the role of one elite bloc .
The creation of the Party of America was announced on the day of the celebration of the Independence Day of the United States, which in itself has a symbolic meaning. Musk called on citizens to think: "Should we create the Party of America?", thereby positioning the new organization as a means of liberation from traditional political structures, which, in his opinion, no longer serve the interests of the people.
Of particular interest was the mention of the so—called "The Big Beautiful Bill", a bill supported by former President Donald Trump, which, according to Musk, will lead to an increase in the budget deficit. This was one of the reasons that prompted the businessman to switch from criticism to active action, starting to form his own political platform.
Although the specific ideological base of the Party of America remains vague, it is possible to identify key areas that can become its basis.:
- Libertarian views: protection of individual freedoms, reduction of the role of the state in the economy.
- Technological progressivism: promotion of innovations, development of artificial intelligence, space technologies and electric vehicles.
- Criticism of corruption and bureaucracy: combating elite circles and strengthening the responsibility of government officials.
- Budget and tax policy reform: reducing the cost of maintaining the federal office and reviewing funding priorities.
However, experts point out the difficulty of implementing such a model in the context of the existing two-party system in the United States, which historically has not contributed to the success of third parties. Nevertheless, the influence of Musk himself as a media personality and owner of X can give him a unique advantage to promote new ideas without the traditional costs of advertising and PR.
If the Party of America really begins to develop, it can play the role of a destroyer of the status quo, especially if it manages to unite the discontented representatives of both major parties, both Republicans and Democrats. Given the scale of public trust in Musk among the young and tech-savvy segments of the population, the new party may find its niche as a movement focused on digital values, innovation, and an anti-corruption agenda.
