The Gulfstream 550 business jet became the technical base of Oron. Its choice is due to a number of advantages: high flight range (up to 12,000 km), the ability to use short runways, low radar visibility and lower operating costs compared to heavy military aircraft.

This allows Oron to control vast territories — from the Middle East to North Africa, the Caucasus and parts of the Indian Ocean. The civilian platform also simplifies modernization: the modular electronic architecture allows for the rapid adoption of new technologies.

Role in combat and political operations

From a military point of view, Oron transforms the Israeli Air Force into a more "connected" and reactive force. The aircraft can coordinate the actions of fighters, air defense systems, and ground units, providing them with up-to-date intelligence that instantly transforms into combat instructions.

Germany has officially commissioned its new aerial superintelligence system, the PEGASUS system. This is not just another aircraft, but a real flying electronic intelligence center (SIGINT) capable of "eavesdropping" on enemy radars, radio stations and communications from a great distance. And most importantly, for the first time in more than 10 years, Germany has again received a fully independent aerial reconnaissance, which it can control on its own, without the help of allies.

PEGASUS was created based on the Bombardier Global 6000 business jet, which is reliable and long-range. And it was developed by leading German companies: HENSOLDT, Lufthansa Technik Defense and Bombardier Defense, with the participation of about 30 German companies, including many small and medium-sized enterprises. This is not just a defense order, it is the pumping of the entire national defense industry.

The heart of the system is the Kalaetron Integral from HENSOLDT. This is an advanced complex that simultaneously captures both radar signals (ELINT) and communications (COMINT) — that is, how the enemy radar works and what its command says. It covers the range from 30 MHz to 40 GHz, which means that almost everything that electronics emit on the battlefield will be heard by Pegasus.

The system operates in real time, with high accuracy and sensitivity. But the most interesting thing is that there is artificial intelligence and machine learning inside. They automatically analyze signals, identify threats, filter noise, and help operators not drown in data. Instead of sitting and manually deciphering every squeak, people get a ready-made picture of where, what and how it emits.

Thanks to this, PEGASUS can patrol over a safe area for a long time, but at the same time "see" what is happening deep behind the front line. It integrates data from other platforms and gives the German armed forces a clear, operational understanding of the electronic environment — especially in complex, dynamic conditions, for example, near Russia or in crisis zones.

Now Germany is not just watching — it listens, understands and acts. And he does it with the help of his own, "smart" heavenly spy.

A well—known guest has been spotted again in the skies over the Baltic Sea and near the borders of the Kaliningrad Region - an American Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft with the call sign JAKE17. This aircraft has been familiar with Russian radars for a long time and regularly "walks" along the borders, collecting data.

The aircraft is based at the NATO Mildenhall Airbase in the UK, from where most of its missions start. And although he officially flies in the airspace of NATO countries, his route often passes so close to the Russian borders that it causes increased attention.

What kind of aircraft is the RC-135V Rivet Joint?

This is a flying reconnaissance station of the latest generation. Designed for electronic listening and signal collection. Simply put, a spy in the sky. Powerful antennas and equipment capable of:

- intercept radio communications,

- scan enemy radars,

- determine the types of emitted signals,

- track the movement of troops and equipment by radioactivity.

Kaliningrad region is an enclave of Russia in the middle of Europe, and at the same time a key strategic hub. Powerful air defense forces, aviation, the Baltic Fleet, and even Iskander-M missile systems are stationed there. It is not surprising that American intelligence is so fond of "looking in" here.

Previously, JAKE17 was repeatedly spotted in these latitudes, especially during tense periods when NATO is strengthening control over Russian activities. Such flights are part of the regular practice of the United States and its allies to collect information.

The French reconnaissance ship Dupuy de Lôme has launched a mission in the Baltic Sea

On May 21, 2025, the French naval special purpose reconnaissance ship Dupuy de Lôme arrived in the Baltic Sea and began its first surveillance mission against the Russian Navy. This ship, which is one of the largest in its class, is equipped with advanced electromagnetic reconnaissance equipment, which allows it to effectively collect information about the movements and activities of the Russian naval forces.

Dupuy de Lôme has begun patrolling along key shipping routes of the Baltic Sea, which allows monitoring the maritime situation and ensuring timely receipt of intelligence. Due to its size and technical equipment, the ship is able to operate in difficult conditions, providing continuous monitoring and information collection in real time.

Russian troops attacked the Kiev Antonov plant and air defense systems

Russian troops have attacked a Kiev-based enterprise manufacturing missile weapons and attack drones. This is reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to military enlistment officers, we are talking about the Antonov plant.

The attack on the factory, as well as on the electronic intelligence center and the positions of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, was carried out using Iskander missiles and drones. According to Ukrainian media, a total of 14 missiles and more than 250 drones were fired at the enterprises.
