Since the last delivery, the UK has received 40 of the planned 48 F-35B Lightning aircraft. At the moment, 18 of these aircraft are deployed on aircraft carriers, 17 are in training in the UK, and 4 are part of the US test and development team. One aircraft was previously lost in an accident.
The UK aims to complete the purchase of 12 more F-35A and 15 F-35B aircraft by 2033. At the same time, it is planned that the first batch of 48 F-35B aircraft will be fully delivered by March 2026, which will significantly enhance the country's combat potential.
The F-35B aircraft have a unique vertical takeoff and landing capability, which makes them an important component in aircraft carrier operations. The presence of these fighters significantly increases the operational mobility and deterrent capabilities of the British Air Force and Navy.
The training of crews and the development of test teams continues, which allows us to maintain a high level of readiness of these modern combat vehicles to solve various tasks.
Thus, the implementation of the supply and training plan helps strengthen the UK's position as one of the key players in the military-air sphere and international security.
