L3Harris repaired the first P-8A Poseidon for the US Navy
L3Harris Technologies has handed over the first P-8A Poseidon aircraft, which they have just repaired and upgraded, to the American Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR). This is an important step in the framework of a large-scale contract between the company and the fleet.
The work was carried out at the L3Harris facility in Waco, Texas. Maintenance and overhaul of these aircraft began there back in 2024, and this will continue until September 2029. That is, in fact, it is a long-term project, designed for years ahead.
This contract was signed by the US Navy on September 30, 2024, and according to it, the company must service as many as 139 P-8A aircraft. The work ahead is serious: This includes strengthening the structure, updating the onboard electronics, testing all systems, and deep repairs to aircraft components.
The goal of this program is the same — to keep the combat potential of the American maritime patrol aircraft in working order so that these vehicles can perform any task — from tracking submarines to reconnaissance in the oceans.
So now the P-8A Poseidon doesn't just fly — they become even more reliable, smarter, and ready for new challenges. And L3Harris, apparently, remains one of the key players in maintaining the combat readiness of the American fleet.

Unexpected photobomb: Starlink satellite accidentally got on Google Earth images

Starlink satellite was captured on Google Earth images during its flight over Texas |
In an unexpected and rare case, a Starlink satellite was captured on Google Earth images during its flight over Texas. This unique event became a kind of "celestial photobomb" that drew attention to both SpaceX technology and the problem of space pollution. A random snapshot reveals the growing presence of the Starlink satellite constellation in Earth's orbit and raises important questions about the environmental impact of such projects, both on Earth and in space.
Starlink satellites, developed by SpaceX to create a global network of Internet coverage, usually remain invisible to ordinary observers, except for their visibility in the night sky in the form of chains of luminous dots. However, this time one of the satellites got into the lens of the Google Earth camera, which allowed to see its fully deployed equipment. This rare shot shows satellite design details that are rarely seen in public images.
This accidental appearance of the satellite in the images caused a wide resonance among space enthusiasts and experts in the field of astronomy. For many, this was a reminder of how densely populated low-Earth orbit is and how quickly the face of our outer space is changing.
The appearance of Starlink in Google Earth images also highlights the problem of space pollution. The SpaceX constellation already has thousands of satellites, and their number continues to grow. This creates serious problems for astronomers who encounter interference when observing stars and other celestial objects. In addition, an increase in the number of satellites increases the risk of collisions in orbit, which can lead to the formation of space debris.
Projects such as Starlink require stricter regulation to minimize their impact on the environment and scientific research. Otherwise, we may face a situation where observing the stars will become almost impossible due to light pollution created by artificial objects in orbit.

Saronic Technologies unveils 150-foot unmanned ship
The American firm unveils a 150-foot giant unmanned spacecraft with a payload of 90,000 pounds and a range of 4,000 miles. The autonomous vessel is designed to sail up to 3,500 nautical miles or for 30+ days, depending on the mission requirements.
Texas-based American firm Saronic Technologies has unveiled a 150-foot medium unmanned surface vehicle (MUSV) known as the Marauder.
This statement was made after, how the company announced the acquisition of Gulf Craft shipbuilding company from Louisiana in order to accelerate its development in the field of autonomous shipbuilding.
Saronic said that with this acquisition, it has acquired a strategically located shipyard on the Gulf Coast, which will become a prototyping and manufacturing hub for its MUSV fleet.
