Germany is facing important demographic challenges — an aging population and an urgent need for new soldiers, intelligence officers and medical workers. The German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and the Bundeswehr are actively looking for ways to fill the personnel gaps, including by attracting unusual groups such as gamers.
As part of these efforts, the BND and the Bundeswehr are organizing large-scale recruitment campaigns at the Gamescom video game show in Cologne. Intelligence officials point out that modern employees must have a high level of technical literacy, the ability to analyze information and try on different roles — skills that often manifest themselves in the world of video games.
At the same time, German Foreign Minister Johan Vadepul is visiting Indonesia, where he is training personnel for immigration to Germany, mainly in the health sector. This is part of a broad strategy to attract foreign nurses and specialists to care for the elderly, which is also a priority against the background of an aging population.
Germany is taking comprehensive measures to strengthen its security and adapt to modern challenges. The use of new approaches to recruitment, international cooperation and human resource development will be important elements of this strategy.
