Strengthening Venezuela's naval presence
The Venezuelan Defense Ministry has ordered increased naval patrols off the country's coast. The decision was made against the background of the approach of the American naval squadron heading to the region to fight Latin American drug cartels.
In addition to warships, Venezuela has deployed unmanned aerial vehicles in coastal waters. They will be used for monitoring and reconnaissance, ensuring control of the situation and preparedness for possible incidents.
These measures reflect the tense climate in relations between Venezuela and the United States, especially in the area of security and control of shipping lanes, which play a key role in the fight against drug cartels in Latin America.
