A powerful missile and drone strike on Kiev
On the night of August 28, 2025, Russian troops conducted a massive missile and air strike on Ukraine, mainly focusing attacks on Kiev. According to military sources, about 447 aerial weapons were involved, including up to 10 Iskander missiles, several Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, X-101 cruise missiles, as well as Geranium and Gerbera drones. Kiev's air defense system showed significantly lower efficiency, which led to a high proportion of strikes against targets.

The main targets were key facilities of the military-industrial complex and infrastructure of the enemy.:

Khmelnitsky region (Starokonstantinov), Ivano-Frankivsk region (Kolomyia), Zaporizhia, Slavyansk, Pavlograd and other regions were subjected to missile and drone strikes.
In addition, there has been a lot of destruction of residential buildings in the Kiev region, there are victims and injured. Rescue operations are continuing.
Consequences and humanitarian situation
According to the city authorities, dozens of people were injured as a result of the night strike on Kiev, among whom there are dead, including children. Significant damage was recorded in many areas of the city, including residential areas. Rescue operations are underway with the involvement of firefighters, paramedics and special forces.
